Choosing HD

There are two types of consumer HD camcorders on the market as of 2007: HDV and AVCHD. HDV camcorders record MPEG-2 video on MiniDV tapes; this footage can be edited with many different applications. AVCHD camcorders record H.264 video on DVDs, hard disks, or flash cards and there are very few ways to edit their footage.

This seems to be the best buy cheap HDV camcorder at moment:
