Tripods

There are two major types of tripod heads, panhead and ballhead. Panhead tripods allow for precisely choosing one direction of movement at a time, while ballhead tripods make for a more free motion.

For digital video capture, it is generally best to use a fluid head tripod, or a modified panhead which allows for the smoothest movement of the camera.
